Wikipedi-Odyssey

A wikipedi-odyssey is when, while reading a page on Wikipedia for any reason, you come across a linked word you are curious about and click on it, then on that new Wikipedia page you click on another link, and so on and so on until you realize you have spent several hours on Wikipedia. Sometimes referred to as a "wiki-quest".
Friday I was reading an article about the Higgs boson on Wikipedia and I clicked a link for the Large Hadron Collider, before I knew it I was on an afternoon long wikipedi-odyssey.

wikipedia rule of google

Anytime you google anything one of the first 10 hits will always be the wikipedia article about it.
I typed 'google' into google and the 3rd hit was the article on google at wikipedia, thus demonstrating the wikipedia rule of google.

wikipedia

Online open text encyclopedia, the quality of whose articles varies widely because the quality of the contributors varies widely. A large number of its two hundred billion trillion articles consist of recycled news releases, wishful thinking masquerading as fact, axe-grinding, and hobbyhorse-riding. On the other hand, some sections include many articles written by people who know what they're talking about.
If you like an encyclopedia which provides hundreds of articles about Canadian television shows, you'll love Wikipedia!

wikipedant

A person who updates Wikipedia immediately after a breaking news story regardless of how mundane and/or apocryphal it may be.

Derived from Wikipedia (a Web site that allows collaborative editing of its content and structure by its users) and Pedant (a person who is excessively concerned with minor details and rules or with displaying academic learning).
You mean to tell me you were online Saturday night at midnight updating Wikipedia's Scotty Bowman entry after rumours of his impending hiring by the Toronto Maple Leafs? Man, you're not only a wikipedant, you are a loser!
