Lame pop music performed by feminine men that wear makeup and have no historical knowledge of heavy metal.

Poser metal reared it's ugly head in the mid-1980's. Corporate television producers have tried to re-write rock history and give this type of teeny bopper bubblegum credibility within pop culture history. It was a joke then, is a joke now. Practioneers of this genre include Poison, Warrant, Winger, Slaughter, Skid Row, Motley Crue.

A poser is a girl/guy who listens to a certain type of music or dresses a certain way to impress people or to fit into a certain crowd. often times people get mixed up with those who are posers and those who are not. If you go out buy a sk8r-boi sweatshirt and a skate board and go out on the town and ride around and some one shouts out " fucking poser" are you one ? NO! Come on people..you went out and bought the skateboard so you could...erm GET BETTER! Seriously how are you ever going to become a skateboarder if you dont practice and get better? *cough exactly* now in a different situation. Lets say you go out buy a skateboard...by the way you dont even know the brand of the board and you go out with your friends and just sit there while they do there little skateboarding tricks ... so basically you are just there to look cool..then are you a poser. Yah? yes!

Metal-Poser

A male or female, typically in their teen ages, 14-18, who usually listens to metalcore, post-hardcore, deathcore bands es pecially chelsea grin and suicide silence, and nu metal. Genres like these symbolize a typical teenage boy or girl who call themselves "metalheads". These genres are considered to be poser metal to real metal fans. These teenage boys and girls usually bash people for their personal opinion on the music they like and won't be friends with someone unless they have their music taste.

Bands like Of Mice & Men, Asking Alexandria, Motionless in White, Bring Me the Horizon, are examples of fake metal and poser metal.

Metal-Poser: *talking to someone who doesn't have their music taste*, "omg what the fuck, you're such an asshole, your music sucks!"

^ This is typically said by a metal poser to someone who doesn't like their music.

Metal-Poser: "I hate rap and country, it's so fucking gay. Mac Miller and Nicki Minaj and Justin Bieber and all mainstream music sucks!"

Real Metalhead who doesn't bash people for their music taste: "Gosh, leave people's music alone. What are you, a metal poser?"

the most commonly used pose for myspace poses, cliché especially in many teenage girls. Typically shows lips in a pout, and them making a peace sign. The picture is mostly taken from a downward pointing angel, or in the bathroom. Often photoshopped.

OMG, Kelly's new profile picture is so classic myspace pose, how unoriginal.
