Delete mode

An automatic reflex of the human brain that makes you forget everything you have previously known the moment you actually need it.

Some things that trigger delete mode are:

a) being on stage
b) being in the presence of a very attractive person
c) taking a very important test

"I can't believe I forgot the lyrics to my song at the talent show! I swear I knew every single word of it, but when I was supposed to actually sing it my brain went on delete mode!"

hard delete

When you get hammered to the point of remembering nothing, making a complete fool out of yourself, pissing a lot of people off but refusing to hear the stories when your friends tell you about them. Rather, you'd prefer to hard delete the night act like it never happened.

Friend: Do you remember last night calling your ex and telling him he was the love of your life and you'd never love anyone like him, then using a wedding china to make nachos only to break it and spilling a glass of red wine all over your cashmere sweater.....

You interjecting: I don't need to hear any more. Let's hard delete last night.

Delete Day

The anniversary of someone's death, usually a parent or sibling. Delete Day tradition says you dress up in extremely dramatic (preferably black) clothes, eat fish and chips for breakfast, and give absolutely no f***s what people think. Lean into the Matrix aesthetic.

Sarah: My brother's Delete Day is tomorrow.
John: Oh, happy Delete Day?

Grand Delete

This is a term used by hungry social sites users, who are not getting the tons of attention, they feel a sense of entitlement in receiving. It generally deals with those who want everyone to look at them, their posts, their photos, their everything and if they are not doing this, they will delete a large number of "so called" friends. It is like a put down for anyone that does not fit into their tiny, insignificant ego-land.

"About to do a grand delete... This should be interesting. Wonder how many people on my list don't even bother with me? I'm running a test to see who reads my posts.
