Screenthot

People intending to spread drama/rumours via the screenshot of text.

This is included, but not limited to:

Private DMs
Group chats
Snapchats

The motivation for screenthots is currently unknown, yet some believe it is most likely because they feel irrelevant in the current drama taking place.
P1: Oh my lord, did you see what Simone said on that twitch stream last night?

P2: Oh my god! Her organisation supports this!? What a lack of energy on her part!

P3: *screenshots and sends to another group chat*
P3: Hey guys check what I found.

P1: *upon finding out it was shared* OMG P3, you're such a screenthot!

screensaver

A pejorative term to describe someone who offers little or no social interaction in a social situation (i.e is boring).

The term implies its subject is simular to a static computer, which reverts to a screensaver through innactivity.

Screensaver Sunrise

Expression coined by WRC-TV (Washington DC) meteorologist Tom Keirien to describe a sunrise so impeccably perfect that words are inadequate; the only tribute to do it justice would be to freeze-frame and fly the image into a computer to use as desktop artwork.

Use of the term "screensaver" might be considered inaccurate were the image to be used for the Desktop or as Wallpaper instead of as a screensaver. But in context the usage is acceptable, as everyone gets it.

Screenshatting

ScreenShatting (verb)

The act of aggressively screenshotting someone’s post, artwork, or authored content—usually out of context—and reposting it to provoke rage, derail conversation, or farm clout. It’s digital sabotage disguised as engagement. Often used by trolls, baiters, or chaos agents who can’t match the original tension, so they fracture it instead.
“After David dropped that capsule, the trolls started ScreenShatting it everywhere—no credit, no context, just pure distortion to bait reactions.”
