An Asshole acquired his nickname by being rude, and self-centered toward others. He has his head so far crammed up his ass, that he doesn't hear or see anyone else. Just himself.

My supervisor thinks and acts like he is better and smarter than everyone else. Then they wonder why there is such low morale working here. He is such an asshole.

Is the more extreme definition of jerk, which is just a polite way of calling someone an asshole. If you actually have to use the word asshole to describe someone, instead of jerk, then that person is, by definition, pond scum.

1. Josh is such a jerk. He uses girls as plays things. When he finishes he tosses them away like day old garbage.

2. Edward is such an asshole. He manipulates girls by posing as a nice guy to win them over. When he has them where he wants them he turns off the school boy charm and turns on his true asshole nature, treating girls like they're just another notch on the ol' bed post!
