When two entries in the same crossword puzzle have identical definitions -- derived from the name of the crossword puzzle editor of The New York Times, Will Shortz.

The puzzle had Shortzesque definitions for the two entries of ZIPS (Flies) and ZOOMS (Flies).

Shostle

A combination of jostle and shuffle, it occurs when two people walking opposite directions on a sidewalk are about to run into each other, so they each attempt to move out of the way in the same direction, resulting in an awkward controntation where everybody is shuffling one way or the other -- often repeatedly -- to try to get out of each other's way.

This stupid woman was coming towards me and we shostled for what felt like five minutes till I got past her.
