Bands like Damien Zygote, The Amen Family, Industrial Frost and The Epicene. The genre tends to sound a lot like the Goth-Industrial of the mid 90s mixed with Trip Hop.

A genre of guitar-based rock and roll typified by fast tempos, short song duration, and aggressive delivery. Despite its "short, fast, and loud" nature, punk rock is essentially melodic. Non-"pop" punk rock is known as "hardcore."
Punk rock began in the middle 1970s with bands like The Stooges, The Ramones, and The Sex Pistols and was initially a reaction to the overproduced, lengthy, plodding corporate rock that had come to dominate the landscape. The "new wave" lasted until approximately 1982, when there was a move away from original punk to more aggressive hardcore. A second wave of punk erupted in the late 1980s and early 1990s, peaking in 1994. The genre continues to this day (as does it's musical sibling, hardcore).
While there is a philosopy closely related to punk rock ("Do It Yourself") and a visual style closely associated with punk rock (torn jeans, spikey hair, chuck taylors, etc.), please note that punk rock is a FORM OF MUSIC.

you're most likely to come across one of these weird and unusual creatures during the early hours of the morning lamenting the lose of his/her muse and drinking some decent red wine outside a closed cafe.
certainly to have dropped out of the local art college due to being surrounded by a load of middle class wannabes and the withdrawl of their funding grants.
will create flyers for free gig tickets or beer. will convince you that they are only doing this until discovered by a rich patron at which point they will sell any principles they have for a quick buck.
more than likely to be mistaken as being homeless.

resposible for totally pointless flyers/stencils popping up around the city, a known triat they possess.

Boy bands with electric instruments. People who listen to Pop Punk have never heard real punk bands like The Offspring, or Green Day. Wait a second. They have heard of both bands, unfortuanately both bands have sold out to this disgrace. Darn it all.
BTW, How the hell did Avril Lavigne fall under Punk.

Pop Punk Fan: I went to a B182 concert. I'm so punk.
Me: No you're not. I bet you have never heard of great bands like The Offspring or Green Day.
Pop Punk Fan: Yes I have, I just bought American Idiot.
Me: Oh wait, I forgot. Both bands suck now. I hate idiots who think that pop has a place in punk.
