Feminism (noun)
The advocacy of women’s rights on the basis of the equality of the sexes.

Feminism at its core is about equality of women and men. Critics argue that equality is not possible because women and men are not the “same." However, feminism advocates equal rights and equal access to opportunities. Women and men do not have to be the “same” to have the right to equality.

As a social activist, Gloria Steinem was instrumental in bringing feminism to national attention in the late 1960s.

Feminism

A person who believes women deserve to be seen and treated with the same respect as men. Reasons: Women get judged and degraded for things when men don’t (when girls have sex or wear revealing clothes they are sluts, hoes, slags, thots or whores but men are praised).
Women are objectified and sexualised all the time (e.g catcalling, and terms like ‘school girl’ being sexualised but not ‘school boy’. Songs about only women’s bodies) It makes women feel dirty & uncomfortable & unworthy as they feel they are seen for no more than their bodies. Men often feel they have a right to control women (in 18 countries husbands are legally allowed to prevent their wives from working)

Men often think everything is about them (e.g if a women wears makeup) Men often feel they own a woman’s body (in around 10 counties (used to be 36 in 2017) a husband r@ping his wife is legal & 1 in 6 women have been the victim of attempted or completed rape in the US (ofc men are r@ped too, but it’s much more common for women). It is more in other places)
Women are often seen as dumber than men (there has still not been a SINGLE US female president, women aren’t allowed to drive in Saudi Arabia and the term ‘housewife’ + the gender pay gap still exists).
There are many more reasons and more depth but I can’t make it too long. If society has made you misogynistic, you need to be open-minded & change. Feminism does not exist because women want power. Be smarter. Misogyny is not cool.

Feminist

There's a big difference between modern and traditional feminist. A traditional feminist, about 5% of feminists, is someone who wants women to be equal, but doesn't push it so hard. Modern feminists want women to be treated specially. They go with the "Don't hit women" "Hold the door open for women" and then go being sexist "Be a man!!" "Men don't cry!!" They expect the man to try and save the women, but when they do yell at them they're a strong independent women. Will call you sexist for not being a feminist, and claims women are oppressed with the backup being? Umm? They hate men and go with slogans like "Kill all men" and really aren't the people who are pleasant to be around. They also insist they're oppressed, ignore the fact pretty much all of them are white cisgender. Some of their favourite things to do include being sexist, insisting women are always the victims, dumping mens rights because it doesn't benefit them, etc. Now lets move on to traditional feminist: Wants equality, supports the mens rights movement (Because they support equality) calls out sexism but doesn't scream their heads off at anything slightly harming a girl, things like that.

Modern feminist: WHY ARE YOU AGAINST ABORTION IT'S THE WOMENS BODY!!!!
Normal person: No, it's the babies body.
Modern feminist: WHAT THE HELL YOU SEXIST BLEH *Yelling*
Normal person: leaves

Modern Feminist: TAKE IT LIKE A MAN MEN DON'T CRY YOU BITCH YOU'RE TRYING TO MANIPULATE HER BY CRYING

Modern feminist: YOU'RE NOT A FEMINIST FUCK YOU SEXIST BITCH YOU FIGHT FOR THINGS THAT DON'T HELP ME

Traditional feminist: Men can cry as they have emotions too. And abortion is a touchy subject, but it is not sexist as they're not doing it to control a womans body. It's pretty much the equivilant of not letting men manspread. The people in this situation didn't do anything sexist.
Modern feminist: YES THEY DID YOU'RE OPPRESSING ME
Traditional feminist: You were born in the US, you're white, you're cisgender. Don't tell me you're fucking oppressed.
