describing one who supposedly has the worst life ever; one who is emo is, typically, Caucasian, annoying beyond compare, dresses differently but doesn't necessarily stand out (in fact they usually fade into the background), has tons of friends but still complains that they have none, is named something edgy, listens to garbage music, references dead memes, is most likely LGBTQ+, sometimes trans, has dyed hair, and refers to themself as trash all the time.

"That emo bitch back there was so fucking louuuuud. And Jesus Christ! What's with that rainbow beanie??"

An emotional person who is melancholic about his/her life.
Sometimes it's because of being broken-hearted, depressed, pessimistic and also being so cynical.

Don't be so emo, being cynical is not the answer to your problems.

I'm sick of people saying ALL Emo's are fake I don't think I am. An emo is somone who is supposed to be unique but unfortunately lots of supposed 'Emo's' totally f**ked that up the whole point of Emo is to be different not the same!!!

emo

In the 1980s they were called "punk". Same thing as emo. Emo is not a new thing, but the word emo is new. If you know what "punks" were in the 80s and how they dressed and acted, well, that is what an emo is in 2011. Same thing different label.

If the punk kid in 1985 was sent forward in a time machine to the year 2011 they would call him an Emo.
