Not to be confused with mind-blindness.
The inability to see certain things due to them being excluded from your vision by your brain. This is most common with things that obscure your vision or are unnecessary for you to see but it can potentially happen to anything. For some people, they will be able to see it after either looking again or having it pointed out to them but some people will still be unable to see it. Mental blindness can play a part in some optical illusions.

Despite looking at the entire map, I could not see the part with my location due to my mental blindness.

Term used by one jealous shit stirring arsehole who has nothing better to do with their time than stick their nose in other peoples lives.. These people need to get a life of their own before they experience a rather large slap from a bigger momma bitch than they are...

Speaking of a grown man who acts and plays games as if he was young. A very playful, annoying, and simple minded male. A male that tends to not know how to navigate adult hood.

An easier way to say Theory of mind.
In psychology, mental theory refers to the capacity to understand other people by ascribing mental states to them. This includes the knowledge that others' mental states may be different from one's own states and include beliefs, desires, intentions, emotions, and thoughts. Possessing a functional theory of mind is considered crucial for success in everyday human social interactions. People use such a theory when analyzing, judging, and inferring others' behaviors. The discovery and development of mental theory primarily came from studies done with animals and infants. Factors including drug and alcohol consumption, language development, cognitive delays, age, and culture can affect a person's capacity to display theory of mind.

When someone nearby catches your attention by saying your name but, is talking to or about someone else with the same name
Stranger: Hey Josh! how are you doing?
Josh: *looks up from phone from nearby*
Different Josh who is actually talking to the stranger: I’m good how about you?
Josh: ... I just got mental ding-dong-ditched
