1:A wedgie is when a person/people grab a another person's/people's boxers/briefs/panties and pull up in a form of hurting the target. A prank often used by bullies or friends playing a joke.

2:A popular band

1: When I was in gym my friend decided to pull my pants down and lift me in a wedgie by my white boxers and since I had to pee really bad at the time I pissed myself and was very embarrassed.

2: I got tickets to wedgie's live concert this Friday!

Noun. Employed by Earl Carpenter in the early 1960’s went returning young bother in-law home, who has decided to run away from home. He has him by the back of the pants and was lifting him off the ground, this caused his pant and underwear to wedge between his buttocks.

His bother in-law in fear of another wedgie has no further thoughts of running away from home.

Used to describe a very painful, (and sometimes embarrassing), situation that one cannot get out of immediately.

This could imply financial, social (where one gets mocked and doesn't have a come back) , physical (getting one's foot caught under a boulder); this could be used in all aspects of life.

Example one:

"Hey, did you want to come along on that three week expedition with us?"

"No, sorry dude, I'm tapped out. Fiscally, I'm hanging by a wedgie".

Example two:

"Dude, I just got pwned by Mike. There's no way I could top that comeback. He's got me hanging by a wedgie.
