Microsoft Tax

The portion of the cost of a new computer that goes towards the Microsoft Windows license typically attached to it. Typically used derogatively in the free software community, which consists of people who would rather have no operating system supplied with their new PC. Due to the tactics of Microsoft towards computer manufacturers, this is rarely possible, unless the computer is a Macintosh.

Guy: I want a new PC to run Ubuntu, and I'd rather not pay the Microsoft Tax, but I don't have the time or know-how to put together a PC from scratch.
Other Guy: That sucks. Microsoft should stop being such greedy pigs.
Guy: I know!

Slang term for the new Chromium version of their failed Microsoft Edge browser.

Does that mean Microsoft Credge will get the crappy scrolling and touch input of Chrome?

Microsoft Surface

Quite possibly the coolest thing Microsoft has created since the Xbox 360 in 2005. It is a tablet with an interface like its sister product Windows 8. The coolest feature is the ability to attach a soft keyboard that doubles as a cover, dubbed Touch Cover, while putting the tablet up on a built-in stand. So it's almost a touchscreen laptop.

Microsoft Surface proves that Microsoft can be a little like Apple, sometimes.

Microsheep

(n) 1. A person, or group of people, that buy a Microsoft product after being influenced by hype. 2. A person, or group of people, that buy a Microsoft product without first doing some research on the product they are about to buy.

1) My friend bought a suXbox 360 just to have downloadable content, but now that Microsheep is paying to use his own bandwidth to play games online and cannot watch high-definition movies.

2) Mostly everyone I know kept Windows XP but there are still a few Microsheep that insist on its dumbed-down incompatible version, Windows Vista, to be the best operating system.

Microsoft Fanboy

Someone who boners over Windows, Zune, Xbox, anything Microsoft. Not quite as cancerous as Apple fanboys, as they will run themselves into debt to get the latest iDevice that has only minor improvements over the previous generation and still uses the same locked down shitty OSes.

Metro gives me a boner. Muhgawd I am such a Microsoft fanboy.
