Often describes someone associated with academia or high society but also exhibits the characteristics of a douchebag. A douchetentious person often, on first impression seems to be honestly imparting knowledge or experience from lofty pursuits but is actually just bragging in order to impress or make themselves seem important.
It is hard to cite an example but it is easily spotted.
