moombahton

Moombahton is a popular genre of electro music invented by musician/DJ Dave Nada in the fall of 2010 in Washington, DC. Nada created the neologism "moombahton" to describe the new genre. "Moombah" comes from the title of a popular track that was remixed by DJ Chuckie. Nada slowed the tracked down to 108 bpms, which is close the the bpms of reggaeton. Hence, Nada adopted the "ton" from "reggaeton" and appended it to the track title "Moombah" to generate "moombahton." As of May, 2011, moombahton is growing dramatically in popularity around the globe, spawning mulitple subgenres as it does so.

The tagline line for the moombahton movement is "Dale moombahton," created by Dave Nada and signifying "Give 'em moombahton."

moomin

The Moomins are the central characters in a series of books by Finnish writer Tove Jansson, originally published in Swedish. They are a family of Scandinavian trolls who are white, round and furry in appearance, with large snouts that make them resemble hippopotamuses. The carefree and adventurous family live in their house in Moominvalley, though in the past their residences have included a lighthouse and a theatre.

Moomintroll - the main character of most of the books, a spirited teenager with a keen sense of adventure and fun, and a generous spirit.

harvest moon

A series of video games about farming (yes farming), raising animals, raising a family, and just...living. It focuses on small-time living, making friends with villagers while making a profit from your farmland. Although sounding boring to most people, this genre has been known to be terribly addictive.

Jack owns every single Harvest Moon game, from its beginning days on the SNES to the newest one on the Gamecube.

still mooing

A steak or hamburger that is cooked extremely rare and bloody, it borders on being raw. Any rarer and the cow would literally have to be slaughtered at the dinner table.

We ordered Filet mignon that was so bloody rare, I swear the steaks were still mooing when they got to our plates.

moonshine

Moonshine is illegally distilled homemade whisky, usually with a very high alcohol content. It got its name because it was normally distilled at night "by the light of the moon." Most moonshine is distilled in West Virginia, Kentucky and Virginia.

The only reason that moonshine is illegal is because there anyone who distills spirits in the U.S. has to pay a federal tax. Moonshiners don't pay the tax. Local police usually ignore moonshiners because "they ain't hurtin' anyone."
