A loop of shame is performed when travelling inside a starsystem to a chosen destination and failing to deccelarate in time resulting in your ship overshooting the destination which forces you to make a turn to get to it from the other side making a 'loop'.
Cmdr a: I wanted to go to hutton orbital for the free anaconda but since it takes an hour to get there I went to get coffee but forgot to slow down in time and overshot like 6k lightseconds.
