A verb, used when an act by another or of fate that causes one personal grief, discomfort, or difficulty. Similar in use to "jacked" or "screwed," with the added connotation of having to take extra personal time to rectify the situation that has occurred.

Can develop as a defense mechanism to distract oneself from negative feelings from a present/past romantic interest.
