Dutch Shuffle

When a higher paid colleague who is responsible for a project to be delivered on Friday decides leave all of the work until Thursday afternoon then takes the Friday off,

leaving a subordinate to do the work or face the wrath of the boss.

Boss “Hey, do you have the project finished, it’s Thursday afternoon already”
Middle Manager “No, but it will be finished by the deadline tomorrow”
Boss “Great, see you tomorrow then”
Middle Manager “no, I’m off til Monday, so and so has it covered”
Boss “you there in the cheap seats, my office”
Lower paid workers “oh no!
He’s done a Dutch Shuffle!”

The act of moving shit (furniture, storage bins, clutter, etc.) from one place to another for no logical reason other than creating the illusion of cleaning up.

“Go to the garage and help your brother, we’re doing a shit shuffle today.”

“Your mother was drinking Pinot Grigio last night and now she’s shit shuffling the whole house. I suggest you go to your friends house after soccer practice.”

“Go to stage 4 and shit shuffle all the dressing from Bobby’s set to the east wall. Make sure to keep the fire lanes clear.”
