You took the cheese

This refers to a philosophy or a product that 'sucked' you into blind worship of it or the principle of it. Not necessarily evil or manipulative, but nonetheless 'over captivating' to the point of losing objectivity and common sense.
"You took the cheese" when you bought that iPad. This is a good example: Apple (Computer) products continue to profit on a terrible worker and human rights record in China. The products are ridiculously expensive and over-licensed and restrictive. Another example is the EULA which is the most menacing on creative authoring.

To get so drunk that you resort to eating vacuum-sealed, non-labeled cheese products on a bet, during a drinking game, or just to sicken spectators.
Ernesto woke up the next morning with a screaming hangover. Reflecting on the evening, he asked his pals, "Did I eat the cheese?"

the cheese has a slice in it now 

a saying that means somehing can't be fixed or changed. Something happened that can't be helped or reversed, and the cheese has a slice in it.
"I can't believe you said that! You're so embarressing!"
"Well the cheese has a slice in it now!"
