A German-born surname given to those misfortunate souls who are forever doomed to have to correct everyone's mis-pronunciations from "Spronle" to "Spranley." Sproehnle's will most likely be given variations of their last names as nicknames since no one can say, nor spell the correct version.
"Is Jennifer Sproehnle present in class today?"
"Sproehnle is a difficult last name to have in kindergarten!"
"Do not marry a man who's last name is Sproehnle."

Carmine: It wasn't even like , yeah we had sex, but the time it was like our souls were long lost friends that hadn't seen each other in 25 years, met unexpectedly at a coffee shop, and lost track of time catching up over a hot pumpkin spice bean water... We fucking STRONED

Sprongs are a specific programming trick for C and C++ that can be used to quickly access a struct when you have a handle (a pointer-to-a-pointer) to it. Instead of "(**handle).member" you can use the equivalent code "handle0->member". The somewhat unusual construct "0->" is pronounced "sprong", and brings to mind the sound of a spring. The word may have been coined by Maf Vosburgh.
The use of sprongs was common among Macintosh computer programmers circa System 7 in the mid-1990s because of the large number of handles used in the Mac OS API.
