Phonatose

An epidemic of modern civilization. Phonatose is the non compos mentis or comatose-like state of total and complete unresponsiveness as well as total disregard of the physical world often exhibited by teenagers while texting or performing any task on a smart phone.

The only way to free a teenager from the phonatose state is to quickly and swiftly slap the phone out of their hands.

The phonatose condition leads researchers to believe that telepathy will be the communication of the future. It appears modern children are compelled to communicate but prefer any method other than verbally.
