each of the characters in grey's anatomy stared just past the camera in their buffy moment to instill bitter sweetness in the show while silently counting out their paychecks

The origin of bouffer comes from the name of the head rest in a car. Currently, bouffer is also used as a negative term to describe someone when you cannot think of another word. In other words, when a person is an idiot, or just plain ridiculous.
