Shark Island were the biggest band in LA in the 80's, every band copied their style, their moves, everything. Axl Rose ripped off a lot of Richard Black's (Shark Island singer) moves and got famous with them. Yep, Shark Island got well and truly shafted!

Shaftism

In reference to the stylistic flairs of Akiyuki Shinbo and animation studio Shaft. Examples include abstract imagery, minimalistic artwork, live-action splicing, eclectic editing, head-tilts, fixation on character's eyes, vibrant and dynamic color palettes, stained glass, visual absurdism, etc.

Inexplicable head-tilts are my favorite Shaftism.
