2. To slam one’s fist into the ground so hard that a crack appears in the floor, mostly appearing in anime

Currently, the term is most commonly used in reference to the location of the World Trade Center after the September 11th attacks.

Refers both to the actual act of and the overall strategy of taking one's opponent down in order to batter him unconscious with fist strikes from a dominant position. Very common in MMA competition.
