The dark forces in long black trenchcoat really enjoyed watching the sick long train ride. They didn't want Elena to leave. So they beat the crap out of her and gave her a concussion. She threw up and got a broken nose and never had the same mind again. They disabled her. She got invited back to clean up the vomit and became a favored pet of the dad that drove the train.
