RI, also known as Raffles Institution, is a prestigious secondary school/junior college in Singapore. It is located near Bishan. It's archnemisis, Hwa Chong Institution, gave it a nickname of Waffles Institution. Hwa Chong Institution also thinks of RI as its archnemisis.

Person 1: Oh, you go to Raffles Institution? That's a really good school!
Person 2: Really? Hwa Chong Institution is so much better!

a school which people think is standard of hwa chong institution. however, it is actually the worst school in singapore, for thinking that it is so “rivalled” by hwa chong.
