When one who is inexperienced and/or not completely fit for the task at hand is given a chance to try it without assistance from a more experienced person, they are being given their deserved third string solo.

A cope and excuse for those blindsided by the ammo shortages of 2020, as they did not maintain a good supply of quality ammunition for their rifles, and now must resort to buying steel cased ammo as all the quality brass type have been picked clean.
