When one seems to go on the same date over and over again, with either the same person or with different people.

It was groundhog date again with george last night: dinner and drinks. I'm getting kinda sick of this routine.

When you're on a date with someone (this usually happens with a boy taking out a girl) and your date is snatched away by someone higher in the food chain.
Your date eventually returns to you hours later for the sole purpose of giving her or a him a ride home.

At prom, Mark got his date hijacked by Juan. She came back when it was time to go and Mark had to drop her off in Butt Fuck Egypt.
