Wuxia can be crudely translated as "chivalrous warrior", and is used as an all-encompassing term to describe a genre of Chinese fiction that deals with knight-errant martial artists in the "Jianghu", or the composite fantasy world, as Eric Yin puts it, of "lumpen intelligentsia, adventurers, monks, priests, rebels, cultists, unemployed peasants and laborers, itinerant peddlers, beggars, disbanded soldiers, gangsters, smugglers, and other outcasts of society".

New Wuxia

New Wuxia is a Chinese fantasy genre that was originated by fans of the Chinese series "The Blood of Youth", after many viewers couldn't pinpoint the exact genre of the show.

The Blood of Youth is a Live Adaptation of the Animation "Great Journey of Teenagers" and it's original novel. The original author of the book and studio of the Animation has both participated in the production.

New Wuxia is said to be a combination of Wuxia (Martial Arts Heroes) and 2D fantasy that does not fit in the concept of Xianxia (Immortal Heroes).
"This is such a fascinating genre! It's fantasy wuxia or a combination between Wuxia and Xianxia"

"Oh, it's called New Wuxia. It's pretty common recent years within Live Adaptations of Donghua (Chinese Animations) as they combine the CG style of it on top of the Wuxia genre itself."
