broken, dis-functional, crazy, insane, makeshift, inefficient, awry, disarranged, chaotic

also known as "haywire", but has growing popularity amongst the tech/IT support community. Originated on the UW-Madison campus while having technical difficulties with a piece of old computer equipment.

Lola, now spender their days thinking about “Two birds, on a wire. One says, come on! And the other says, I’m tired.” Blaming themselves for Macy’s death.

Meaning, the two birds on a wire may be best friends, but they can still lose each other. Things can move at different places, and may even fall behind. Cherish each other.

shoes on a wire 

Footwear hanging from an overhead wire by the laces. The laces of the shoes are tied together, then lobbed up to the wire(s) so that the shoes hang and dangle. Supposedly signals a location where drugs can be purchased; also symbolizes pointlessness i.e. there is no good reason for the object (shoes) being there. Can be found near schools, and in poor areas and tourist locations.

"Once in awhile I'll spot shoes on a wire and it sparks my curiosity and I'll chuckle."
