A peice of plastic or Toilet paper placed between your ass and a public or, very dirty toilet seat. Therefore when taking a shit you will make no contact with the contaminated crapper. Some establishments provide assgaskets for their guests.

Exscuse me waiter, I think I sharted or, I need to take a shit. Do you provide assgaskets in your restrooms?
