Satire so complete those being derided will pay you to make fun of them because they believe you support them.

When satire of a group that is fairly clear from an objective perspective but isn't being picked up on by the group you have satirized, and that group instead idolizes you and you use this to perpetuate a brand and grift them for as much money and influence as they can get while laughing at them behind their backs.

Doing so generally requires making statements that under basic scrutiny (or even outright blatantly) undermine the very premise you appear to support support.

Because this requires adopting a 24/7 persona to the outside world many may take the persona seriously and not realise it is satire.

Some of the most obvious Examples of this include:

Ayn Rand, Flat Earthers on You tube who repeatedly prove the earth is a globe while insisting that's not what they've done, Nick Adams (Alpha Male)
Look at these saps who believe Nick Adams, I need to figure out my one Griftire.

Ayn Rand's Griftire was so good people still uncritically and unironically believe it on both sides.

You think me an old fogeyand an old tory, his thoughtful voice said. I saw three generations since O’Connel’s time. I remember the famine. Do you know that the orange lodges agitated for repeal of the union twenty years before O’Connel did or before the prelates of your communion denounced him as a demagogue? You fenians forget some things. (James Joyce, Ulysses. Penguin Books,1992. p. 38)
