The part of a catameran that keeps it afloat on the water. A catameran has two pontoons that are shaped like canoes. They are connected by a platform that the person sailing the boat sits on.
Without pontoons, a catameran would not be able to sail.

the falling leaf

When someone is first learning how to snowboard and they are scared shittless to attempt carving, so they go all the way down the slope on their heal side by first heading downhill with their dominant foot, and then their other foot, immitating the motion of a falling leaf.
Sarah was tired of falling on her ass every time she tried to carve, so she just did the falling leaf all the way down the slope.

flying the hull

When sailing a catamaran, which has two pontoons, the boat tilts drastically to one side as a result of the force of the wind on the sail, causing one of the pontoons to raise out of the water.
The girl felt like she was flying across the water as she flew the hull of her catameran.
