Get the super fly mug.A place predominantly known for its racetrack. Otherwise regarded as the "6th borough" of NYC (sometimes Jersey City/Hoboken is the 6th boro however.) For those of you not familiar with it, most of Yonkers is like Staten Island without the landfills; the downtown area is similar to Newark, N.J. Though located in notoriously wealthy Westchester County, Yonkers is largely middle and lower middle class and has little in common with the rest of the county and is probably more like New Jersey (Of course, this would have been an insult before the Sopranos made Jersey hip).
The two main ethnic areas are McLean Avenue/Woodlawn (Irish) and Dunwoodie (the Little Italy of Yonkers, where you literally can find people who look like they could be on Tony Soprano's crew). There is also an upper middle class area called Crestwood which doesn't like to identify with Yonkers.

Get the Yonkers mug.A town where people will look at you like you have 3 heads if you say you plan on attending a public university. The main town that gives Westchester County a bad name (or good name, which ever way you look at it.) The reason people think Westchester is full of snobs is mostly b/c of Scarsdale. A town whose postal address spans, literally, 6 towns, so that some people in Eastchester, Yonkers, Mamaroneck, New Rochelle, and Greenburgh can impress their relatives in Jersey by saying they live in "Scarsdale". A place where you are the pariah if you didn't get a Ferrari for your 15th birthday.

Get the Scarsdale mug.An Irish neighborhood (well, THE Irish neighborhood i guess) in the Bronx, NY. Main drags are Katonah Avenue, and McLean Avenue (which is technically in Yonkers, but is usually considered part of the neighborhood because the Irishness extends into Yonkers for a few blocks.) Woodlawn and McLean Heights are often collectively called Wood-Lean.
Woodlawn is 60% Irish.

Get the Woodlawn mug.A northern Westchester version of Scarsdale. It's rich too, but due to its more remote location is more mild-mannered and less well known than Scarsdale. Is a hamlet in the Town of New Castle; it is not actually a municipality.

Get the Chappaqua mug.A neighborhood in the Bronx. Yes, THE BRONX. Anybody who says Riverdale is more like Westchester than the Bronx doesn't know their head from their ass. I would know because I grew up in Westchester and just transferred into Manhattan College, in Riverdale. It's in fact very much the Bronx in my opinion. Riverdale is nothing like where I grew up, which isn't even that far into Westchester County (Eastchester to be exact.)
Though Riverdale may not be a hardcore ghetto, it's not the only kinda nice neighborhood in the borough; last time I checked I wasn't looking over my shoulder in Woodlawn or Throgs Neck.

Get the Riverdale mug.A place that white people are afraid to go to. To them it is the epitome of the ghetto. Many people from other parts of the Bronx are even afraid to go to the South Bronx.
Though once being made up of vibrant neighborhoods such as Mott Haven, Hunts Point, Melrose, Morrisania and Highbridge, now it's just culturally deteriorated to the "South Bronx".
