Cyberfly

Share definition
Someone preoccupied with going from social site to blog to social site as their sole or primary means of human interaction and validation.

The cyber version of a barfly or social butterfly. Also known as cyber butterfly or social media butterfly.
A day in the life a cyberfly:

@tracykitty123: Today was awesome! 22 new friends - all on Facebook. I had a great Skype with my colleagues in Germany, Britain and China. I completed my online course in SEO. And, the topper, I was introduced to Deepak Chopra via LinkedIn today! Now I'm going to decompress by getting naughty in a chat room on Livelinks! Can't wait until I get to do it all again tomorrow!

Great minds think alike

Share definition
An phrase that pseudo-intellectuals, brownnosers or sycophants use to elevate themselves intellectually to another by pretending they think or believe the same as they do when in fact so-called "great minds" set themselves apart from others because they really DON'T think like everyone else.
Intellectual: Since the 1950's, the whole of modern western civilization is based off of one driving concept - consumerism! It is the the reason for all the social ills of modern society. Despite the obvious advances in technology in medicine, agriculture, communications, engineering, and alternative energy we as a people are held back because the power rests in the few with the financial and political influence to keep money where is always has been. This rise in technology should be bettering the minds of the masses, but actually is made to anesthetize them and keep them complacent and lethargic.

Pseudo-intellectual: OMG!! Like...wow! I just said the same thing to my friends at the country club yesterday! I say you can get the same quality with Gucci that they get with Prada for less money. But nobody seems to listen. And...ya know...it sooo, like, frustrating? Great minds think alike, right?

Intellectual: *looks down his nose* You're not even in the same conversation.

Modern day version of Big Brother. Online searches, store purchases, Facebook posts, Tweets or Foursquare check-ins, cell phone usage, etc. is creating a flood of data that, when organized and categorized and analyzed, reveals trends and habits about ourselves and society at large.

Search engines and marketing companies have gathered and sorted 90% of all information on our habits ever created by our species in just the past 2 years and 10% of all photographs taken in the history of cameras and videos where taken in 2011 all from the electronic devices which we are either unable or unwilling to live without.
Girl: Hey did you see those crazy photos I posted on Facebook? Sexy, right?

Boy: No.

Girl: No? I tweeted them and sexted them to you too.

Boy: I'm trying to stay off the grid.

Girl: What on Earth for?!

Boy: Because Big Data is watching, that's why, and I don't I don't want the government knowing my business!

Girl: You're weird.

Boy: And you're just another rat in the maze.

rat in a maze

Share definition
1) A pejorative for a human test subject.
2) A person being controlled or observed by another as in a psychology experiment involving rats.
3) Someone, of low IQ or awareness, having trouble with an easy task or decision.
Hippy: There is no more privacy, man! You being online just gives Big Data everything they need to watch your every move!

Yuppy: You meant Big Brother, right?

Hippy: No, man. Big Brother would just take what he wanted, Big Data makes you WANT to give them what they want through slick technology. You're a rat in a maze, man! Don't you see?!

Yuppy: You're crazy! I have GOT to post this discussion on Facebook and Twitter. Let me take your picture with my camera phone for all my friends to see! But first let me finish ordering my Viagra online.

A condition of convenient memory loss that affects political candidates at election time. This is an chronic condition stemming from being an incurable asshole or insufferable idiot but one can still seek treatment since ObamaCare covers pre-existing conditions such as this.
Warning from the Surgeon General:

Romnesia is an unfortunate, chronic condition affecting 9 out of 10 politicians during election campaigns

Symptoms are: forgetting one's original political stances, pandering, short-term memory loss, long-term memory loss, voter confusion, flip-flopping, plagerizing others' ideas and speaking in Palin-dromes. Symptoms maybe be exacerbated when addressing crowds, during televised interviews or debating.

Muslim Rage

From an ill advised Newsweek cover from the on the Sept. 24th, 2012 issue for featuring of picture (two angry muslim men), the subject (free-speech), and the title (Muslim Rage). Newsweek's overdramatisization of this article cuased the hashtag to be hi-jacked with humorous comments by muslims on Twitter with caption-like comments followed by the phrase "MuslimRage" on Twitter.
Woman in Burqa: "I'm having such a good hair day. No one even knows. #Muslim Rage".

"Lost your kid named Jihad at the airport. Can't yell for him. #MuslimRage".

"Head & Shoulders still hasn't made a beard conditioner. #MuslimRage".

"Memo to those few violent MidEast protesters, this is how you fight Islamophobia. You make fun of it.

#MuslimRage".

brain drain

Share definition
When an organization or community is doing poorly enough that its smartest people, seeing the writing on the wall, leave for better opportunities elsewhere. This is common in business and other organizations that perpetuate a common goal or mission and once purged it typically accelerates the demise of the organiztion.

For example: Facebook's poor stock performance since it's IPO and lack of favorable stock options for employees puts them at risk of brain drain. Many will likely head over to Google or Apple, but they'll be in trouble.
Mark Zuckerberg: Sheryl, can find me those repots on Zynga's...Hey?! Why are wearing a Google sweatshirt?!

Sheryl Sandberg: Sorry Mark. We had a good run, but your lack of focus on ad revenue and overvalued IPO has caused this drop in FB stock value with no end in sight. I and the others are leaving before the stock tanks.

Mark Z: The others? They're all leaving Facebook? You can't! We'll never survive this brain drain!

Sheryl: Yeah, sorry. You should've thought about that before going public.
