Bill Gates syndrome

A disease suffered by kids nowadays, the symptom is delusional thinking if they're dropping out from school/college and start a business, they can be as successful as Bill Gates

Synonyms: college dropouts syndrome, school dropouts syndrome, Steve Jobs syndrome, Mark Zuckerberg syndrome, Kanye West syndrome, survivorship bias
How to cure people with Bill Gates syndrome:
Give them a reality check:
1. Entrepreneurship is not for everyone
2. Your business will never take on Apple, let alone Microsoft or the Purple (AstraZeneca), and you won't noticed on Forbes magazine, let alone as a cover model

3. Stay in school, the best is yet to come

association fallacy

An illegitimate child between ad hominem (because association fallacy focused on the PERSON or PEOPLE instead of the ARGUMENT), appeal to emotion, hasty generalization, questionable cause fallacy (because "labels" associated to someone or something can determine the degree of "truth"), and red herring (because it deliberately derails the argument)

Association Fallacy has two kinds:
1. Guilt by association
2. Honour by association
Example of association fallacy:

"You're Neo-Nazi, therefore your argument must be wrong" (Godwin's Law/Reductio ad Hitlerum)
"You are leftist liberal special snowflake, therefore your argument is dismissed" (Red-bait/Red-tag)
"You're the expert, therefore your opinion must be right" (Honour by association)

Robin Hood

The practice ran by Welfare State, when goverment set the irrational (too high) taxes for workers and enterprises (the rich) to pay no-lifers, immigrant snowflakes, and parent's basement resident (The Poor)

Ponzi Scheme at it's finest
Robin Hood mechanism reminds me to Ponzi/Pyramid Scheme, but inverted (the rich must pay the poor)

If no one could pay the irrational taxes, such as due to natural disaster or pandemy like Coronavirus/COVID19, then a country will be doomed (collapse)

TED

Previously, this conference stands for Technology, Economy, and Design. However, this conference expanded into broad topics, such as politics or philosophies.

But underneath it all, it still a perfect place to circlejerk/committing intellectual masturbation
TED, ideas worth sharing....
