Mutually Assured Destruction is where two parties end up destroying each other in the end. This can happen at the end of narcissistic relationships
David and I's relationship devolved to a platform of mutually assured destruction. He nearly took my life, so I made sure to destroy his reputation. He took my money, so I took his. He cheated on me, so I cheated on him. We were both nearly destroyed by the end.

relationships with a narcissist are like cotton candy - they look great at first, but there is no substance to the relationship, and it's really, really messy at the end.
Looking back, the relationship with Killian was so superficial, no substance at all. Lots of sex and parties, food and weed, but nothing solid. It was like cotton candy, great on paper, but mostly hot air and sugar, and nothing a giant mess at the end.

Your emotional algorithm, is a subconscious selection process that is choosing the wrong the person for you. You overlook the red flags because are so familiar that they feel like home. Possibly the same red flags as one of your parents.
Me sobbing during a break up - Gawd! I can't believe I ended up with another prick who treats me like garbage! My emotional algorithm must be broken. What is wrong with me?

Drunk Envy is when you see people drinking, probably not even drunk, but at the perfect point of tipsy where everything is a little bit funnier, everybody is a little bit prettier, and the conversation seems to be wittier. However, you are in recovery so you know if you have one beer, it'll be sixteen more, take a trip to the hood for some oxy and wake in a traphouse with some sketchy ass chic. So, you can't have even one beer under any circumstances.
Him: Hey what's wrong? It's a beautiful day for camping! Why so distracted?
Me: Ugh - these twentysomethings round here and their white claw. Feeling some drunk envy.

(At the casino)
Her: What time is it? There is not one goddamn clock in this place!
Him: (Looking at ATM receipts and his wallet) "I'd say it about $3,000 o'clock!"
Her: What the damn hell! Let's get out of here.
