Being easily brought to tears by the sufferings of the world.
The pain, the hunger, the ceaseless cruelties endured by so many, for no one's gain, immobilized her. She knew she was emotionally tragile and could never be indifferent to the grief of others.

hindred spirits

Two people, each feeling the other as a soulmate, neither able to see how they hold each other back.
Tom had stopped playing the guitar, Susie had dropped out of school, so happy to have found each other that they wanted nothing more than to be together, and all their friends could see they were hindred spirits.

postcognitive

Knowledge which arrives after it might have. Seeing something clearly, once it has passed. Understanding everything just a bit too late.

The opposite of precognitive.
He knew the answer he should have given in the job interview, saw why Dianah had left him for the plumber, understood that the X-Ray Specs ad was probably bogus, and as always, his understanding was postcognitive.

pins and noodles

A state of being highly agitated, yet feeling limp and boneless, anticipating a momentous event.
Sitting in the front row at the Oscars, watching as the envelope was slowly opened, waiting to hear her name called for Best Actress, she was on pins and noodles, wondering if she'd be able to walk to the stage or whether her legs would turn to spaghetti.

The Simpsonian Institution

A bright yellow, spiky-roofed museum on the Mall in Washington, celebrating the Lisa Simpson Presidency. As pre-cognitively laid out in the March 19, 2000 episode, 'Bart to the Future', Lisa has been elected and has moved into the Oval Office to clean up the mess left by President Trump.
On her lunch break, Jane would wander over to the Simpsonian Institution, dreaming of a country under President Lisa, with clean air and water, kindness to all people and animals, the return of ethics and honesty to government, and Mr. Burns in prison.
