Outside of childhood cultural conditioning, norm enforcement is a delusion.
Hym "Norm enforcement is largely performative. You, on some level, have to admit that norm enforcement ISN'T ACTUALLY FOR THE PERSON BEING SHAMED. You don't care whether or not they change or 'improve,' You want the people who SEE THE ACT OF SHAMING to think twice about mirroring or imitating or repeating the behavior being shamed. That's who it's for. It's for the viewer and not the person being shamed.

And, again, it stems (I think) from this type of intellectual elitism where individuals are expected to cede their capacity for thought to... Not even intellectuals. Just random fucking YouTuber's REGARDLESS of their capacity for thought. It's like 'You don't have life X, therefore, the content or function of your mind is somehow de-legitimized regardless of HOW PERSON WITH LIFE X AQUIRED LIFE X (For example, entertaining children by being a loud obnoxious retard while playing video games). It's not different than that scene (And I'm repeating myself) from Bob's Burgers where Louise is heckling those baseball players. She attempts (and fails) to distract the batters (repeated) and the one time one of the batters fails; she takes full credit for his failure shouting 'See!? I did that! That was me!' That's all you're doing when you enforce norms. You're making YOURSELF FEEL BETTER about the existence of people who violate the norms of your adopted propositional ethic. It's superstition. It's not different than throwing salt over your shoulder when you spill the pepper. You're making an example of someone to intimidate the bystanders. And by 'Norm enforcement' I mean 'Social norm enforcement' and NOT 'Do what the Quran says or we're going to throw you off a building' MANUAL NORM ENFORCEMENT."

This has nothing to do with my brain chemistry or fitness. I told you I stopped doing it and now you want me to validate that piece of shit charlatan's work because you're one of his fucking sycophants.
Hym "No. Not until someone acknowledges the actual problem. You won't ever forgive yourself and the parents won't ever forgive you."

Again, surveillance is not something law enforcement shares with random assholes in the community and doing so opens up the door for people to take the law into their own hands. Additionally, the lack of transparency (in the event that someone DID try to take the law into their own hands) makes it so that the fact that you had actively gotten me killed would likely get swept under the rug. Even if it is being done by law enforcement, sharing the information with the public gives the public license to presuppose my guilt in the absence of a trail which is A VIOLATION OF MY 4TH AMENDMENT RIGHTS. And it isn't a matter of safety vs liberty. It's the DELUSION that this makes your kids safe vs MY SAFETY and MY LIBERTY. And if have PROVEN that it us a DELUSION be creating a situation in which I no longer even need to be alive to harm your kids. Your position is entirely aesthetic. You are doing nothing more than trying to make it LOOK like you are in control of me... To the public... So that they feel better about the FACT that if I don't want your kid to be safe... It isn't. I'm being martyred on the altar of you child safety anxiety. If law enforcement is involved in any way, shape, or form... Then this is the government allowing my rights to be violated and my property to be stolen so a company doesn't have to get sued for allowing their employees to single out one of their co workers for harassment. In the name of ✌️✊️✌️child safety✌️✊️✌️.
Hym "And between 9 and 15 years isn't 'Doing your job quickly and efficiently.' So, who pays the price for Suchir Balaji? Where were you on that one Jordan? Is that what telling the truth gets you? You tell the truth. everyone else lies because they don't like who the truth benefits. Suchir Balaji dies a death of despair. We pretend this keeps your kids safe even though we all know that the second I slice one of those little motheefucker's throats we are all just going to pretend we didn't know exactly what we had to do to prevent it. This is embarrassing for you. 702."

Hym "The drug freedom people want there to be a safety net for everyone... You want the opposite of that... You want people to LITERALLY control people's state of mind in every direction EXCEPT DOWN. Full of shit Douglarse. Bad!"

Iam “You know, what was so cool about the ‘NOT RHETORICAL!’ line was that when I wrote it I envisioned more of a Michael Shannon ‘FIND HIM!!!’ kind of explosive rage moment. That wouldn’t have really fit the tone of the scene or the character (as he’s been portrayed) but it was so good because he was able to maintain the intensity of the line. So, yeah, not what I envisioned but I was still really happy with it. That was awesome. I loved it”

Hym "And what the actual fuck is the deal with people harping on the title of your book? It's a stupid question. 'Why did you call your book "A panacea to debauchery" (and, yes, I know that's not the most accurate synonym for the actual title)?' And it's like 'Why is that something you have such an issue with? Are you rooting for the debauchery? Is that not something that needs to be brought under control from time to time?' I mean... You know me, I'm not necessarily averse to debauchery but at least I admit it. I mean, it was 3-4 separate interviews where you were asked something along those lines. It's just weird."
