Validation Slow Pitch

A deliberately lobbed social media post tossed right down the middle, inviting former teammates, casual acquaintances, and long-forgotten rivals to unload a barrage of compliments. Typically disguised as hesitation (e.g., “not sure I wanna but…”) despite the poster refreshing the comments like it’s a tie game in the 7th.

Andrew just threw a Validation Slow Pitch on Facebook, opened with ‘not sure I wanna but…’ and by midnight the comments section looked like a postgame award ceremony.

Split Nip

A drunken, nonsense phrase deployed at peak confidence that is vaguely anatomical, aggressively meaningless, and shouted as if it explains everything.

Eric hadn’t made a coherent point in 45 minutes, but he capped it off with a triumphant ‘SPLIT NIP!'

Beanbag

A low-impact insult deployed by a heavily intoxicated individual when their brain has clocked out but their mouth is still taking shots. Typically used with great confidence and zero clarity, often aimed at friends who are merely existing nearby.

Lawrence, three drinks past coherence, pointed at us and slurred ‘beanbags’ like he’d just delivered a devastating mic drop, then immediately asked what day it was.

Leashilege

That quiet but unmistakable sense of entitlement some people develop once they have a service animal, where they’re “just asking a question” or “only explaining the law,” but somehow everyone else ends up feeling like they’re the problem.

“Well I guess if that’s your policy, we’ll just stand here then,” he said, adjusting the vest and radiating pure leashilege.

TouchTunes Battle

A modern-day Wild West shootout fought not with pistols, but with song credits and aggressively specific song lyrics.

Two participants, Maddie and Emma, engage in a TouchTunes battle by selecting increasingly pointed tracks, each believing the lyrics are a direct hit on the other. Bystanders pretend not to notice, as the jukebox blares emotional warnings, breakup anthems, and “this is about you” choruses until one combatant runs out of money or dignity.

Trail of Tears

A local phrase referring not to the forced displacement of roughly 60,000 Native Americans from between 1830 and 1850, but instead to the predictable emotional fallout when bartenders at Willie Beamons realize they’ve once again fallen for Logan. Often marked by misty eyes, heavy pours, and coworkers saying “don’t do it” far too late.

Give it two shifts, once the new bartender figures out Logan smiles like that at everyone, we’ll have another trail of tears behind the bar.

Cheesebagger

A person who is chronically lame, soft, or otherwise unable to hang when the moment calls for it; One who dodges responsibility, disappears when the bill comes due, or mysteriously forgets debts - financial, social, or moral.

PD didn’t even hesitate, looked right at Daul at the Compound and said, ‘You gonna square up or keep acting like a cheesebagger?’ The room went silent. Debts remained unpaid.
