When someone who doesn’t need your money but wants it and is manipulating you to give it to them. Where sponging would be they need your money. These people usually have money and get it by soaking it from other people. Like a payment plan and the charges gradually increase.

That Doctor was soaking me for money. I started off seeing him for a set price and then he started adding all these extra services. Knowing that I needed the initial service he could get away with soaking me.
