Immediately people made songs and animations about it, and it was a dark time for the Internet. A very dark time, indeed. All you saw on YouTube. Discord was created in May '17, and instantly overtook Skype as the largest chat/video online platform.
And rightfully so, just download it (if you haven't already) and look at it! It's easy to navigate, little to no loading times too. As of 10/26/2017 Discord has 45 million users and counting.
