slang term that people sometimes use sarcastically or dismissively to refer to an unknown, remote, or imaginary place—usually when they don’t know or don’t care to know the real name of the place. It plays off the naming convention of countries like Pakistan, Afghanistan, etc., with “-stan” meaning “land of” in Persian.

It’s not a real place—just a way to express frustration, confusion, or indifference.

Stop announcing the deportations. Make the arrest deport these terrorist fucks, have the paperwork ready to go.
