trimetasphere

(plural: trimetaspheres)

A buckminsterfullerene containing a nitrogen atom and three metal atoms. They are made from lots of carbon, a dash of nitrogen, and a pinch of metals, usually one or two from the Lanthanoid family.
"The first trimetasphere carbon nanomaterials adduct, a Diels-Alder cycloadduct of Sc3N by C80, was reported by Dorn et al. in 2002."
