A place specifically designed to attract stupid tourists and take their money. It's like taking candy from a baby, that's how easily they fork it over.

I thought the largest ball of twine in the world would be really cool and worth every penny of the $29 entrance fee, but I was really disappointed when I realized that it was nothing but a dumb tourist trap.

Tourist Trap 

A place that stupid idiots and the media portray to be a great place to visit or live, but in reality is a crime infested rundown shithole and the people there are rude and the food sucks.
Also known as Paris France.

When I went to paris, it was the most horrible place I have ever been to. The whole city was a shithole, my wallet with my id, passport, and all of my money was stolen by some little kids, all the people there were snooty little dickheads that reeked of piss and B-O, the women there are ugly as hell and don't shave their armpits, and they eat fucking snails over there. FUCKING SNAILS!!!
Don't ever go to france, it's a god damn tourist trap. No matter how glamorous the media portrays it to be, it fucking sucks donkey dick.

Tourist trap 

One of the most recent ones is the area 51 event that will likely trap quite a few people into a possible feud with local police in a small Nevada town. Some are hoping to make money off the people that would otherwise end up in a feud over trying to get in area 51.

Guy inviting people to area 51- These idiots deserve to end up in jail or worse if they're dumb enough to go to this town of Rachel, Nevada. Hahahahahahaha, the dumbasses, I can't wait to play them with the tourist trap.

A country other than your own which is purposefully advertised as an enticing place to live in, but in reality it's just a crime-infested dump. Once you're there you realize you spent 1000 $ on a plane ticket because of misleading ads, but it's already too late-your passport has been stolen, and you end up abducted and raped and, subsequently, in some cases, even murdered. In the happiest scenario, you will have to deal with the trauma of wasting so much money on tourism agencies and airplanes.

Angela : How is Natalie? Is she back from Spain yet?
Bob : She's gone missing for two months now..
Angela : That place is such a tourist trap.

Tourist trap 

A: a place considered to be very popular among tourists, including the local economy being largely dependent on them.

B: a place whose amenities are extremely underwhelming, or even non-existent. In essence, not enough things to do for the average tourist.

C: a place where it's easy to get scammed, or otherwise feels like an unreasonable requirement to spend money to enjoy local activities.

D: a place that's kitsch, childish, and appears outdated.

How come nobody can agree to what a tourist trap actually is?
