to ride baton

When a passenger sits behind the driver of a motorcycle, similar to the fashion popularized by Iranian Riot Police when dealing with election protesters, in which one occupant concentrates on steering the vehicle while the other sits behind dealing out beat downs with a baton. It is used in a similar fashion to riding shotgun.
