the Stennis way

to be thrust into a situation for which you are totally unequipped.

Originally from "Ernest Goes to Camp" - Counselor Stennis teaches the boys to swim by throwing them into the water and saying "You're going to learn to swim the Stennis way!"

Can be used to describe any sort of situation you're thrown into without preperation.
"my math teacher sucks - all he does is teach the Stennis way!"
