that reads

When someone is trying to convey a point and it makes sense to you. You do not always have to agree with them, but saying it usually implies you do.
"I think we should go to the pizza place down the street. The waiters are nice and they have a deal tonight."

"Oh that reads, let's go."

Words you can keep

I'm riding that train, reading that book. . .

An expression which originated during a drunken late-nite discussion of the origins of expressions. It means, "I see what you're saying, where you're going with that."
Drunk person A: "Dude, you know what I mean?!"

Drunk person B: "Totally, Dude. I'm riding that train, reading that book."

Read That

To be used in place of "heard that" when communicating via text, which is most commonly used to express agreement.
Text Message Conversation:

In: "If our lives have plateaued by 35, we have to just skydive on the reg."

Out: "Start working hard now to make sure the only plateau in life is the one you base jump off."

In: "Or the one I build my house on."

Out: "Read that."

West Midlands slang word for rockers, bikers, greasers etc. In the late 1980s it was used by the UK music press to refer to a specific scene centered around the bands Pop Will Eat Itself and Crazyhead. The term never found favour with readers of 'the inkies' (Sounds, Melody Maker and the still extant NME) and was soon dropped. Now often used in predominantly working-class areas of the midlands and the north to mean someone who listens to rock-derived music and/or dresses in a manner that suggests they affiliate themselves with rock music of some kind.
Some grebo passed with Sabbath playing on his stereo.
The Poppies are at no. 17? God, a grebo band in the charts!
