In the olden days, a skelter was a woman who defied society by lusting for another woman. In the early 1800's it was against the law for people of the same sex to mate.
Skelters were often referred to as "rug munchers".

1. A Kick ass Beatles song about an amusement park ride.
2. Charles Manson's messed up belief that the world would end with a race war between blacks and whites where the blacks would kill all of the whites(Except for Manson and his "family" who would be hiding in the bottomless pit by then). Manson states that the problem with the blacks in control is that they wouldn't know what to do because all they've ever known how to do was what "whitey" tole 'em to. So they would seek out Charlie in the bottomless pit and make him king of the world.
3.Pure and total chaos.

1.
When I get to the bottom I go back to the top of the slide
Where I stop and I turn and I go for a ride
Till I get to the bottom and I see you again.
Do you, don't you want me to love you
I'm coming down fast but I'm miles above you
Tell me tell me tell me come on tell me the answer
You may be a lover but you ain't no dancer.
2."Blackie won't know what to do after he's killed whitey, so he'll seek us out. When he finds us he'll be like 'massah, we don't know what to do' and I'll take blackie by the hand and rub his wooley little head and say 'it'll all be okay' and they'll make me their king." ~Charles Manson~

When things are out of control.

In disorderly haste; confusedly; pell-mell.
Haphazardly.
Carelessly hurried and confused.
Haphazard.
Haphazardly.
Carelessly hurried and confused.
Haphazard.
Helter-skelter is what happens if you lit a fire cracker in a room full of animals like cats. The rapid reaction and confused haste to get the fuck out.

Charles Manson's definition: A war between the white and blacks where only one can win (which according to him would be the blacks)
Actual definition: Mass chaos.
Also: A great beatles song.

When large sums of stupid people are at odds with other large sums of stupid people and cause utter chaos and confusion to the spectators
“Nothing in all the world is more dangerous than sincere ignorance and conscientious stupidity”
- Dr. Martin Luther King Jr.
“Never underestimate the power of stupid people in large groups” - George Carlin

An amazing song that not only proves that The Beatles were more than just a pop band, but also proves that Paul McCartney could rock out if he felt like it.
