A Gay Pride fund-raising party or charity gala, where donations typically derive from wealthy, older gay men who attend in order to prey on the younger, poorer ones.

Only superficially resembling a party, these events tend more to emphasize social networking and jockeying for position within the local community. As the term implies, these events are often given over-the-top sexualized themes, if only to attract many attendees while simultaneously distracting them from the fact that there's no actual partying or sex going on.

The opposite of a semen mixer is a bachanal.

That party we'd heard about turned out to just be a semen mixer. It was like a box social from the 1930's combined with a women's sewing circle. We just left early and rented a movie instead.

Semen Mixer

A cement mixer repurposed to collect and combine semen

Every morning, Francis fires up the Semen Mixer and cruises around town making his rounds at local construction sites, collecting what he insists on calling “the day’s aggregate.”

Each contribution gets ceremoniously deposited into the back of the cement mixer, where Slick is already inside the rotating drum for reasons nobody has ever successfully explained.

By quitting time, the mixer is full, Slick has been spun around approximately eight thousand times, and Francis parks beneath the discharge chute like a man waiting for soft-serve.

The drum reverses.

The entire day’s load comes roaring down the chute directly into Francis’s mouth, followed several seconds later by Slick, who shoots out feet-first like a deeply traumatized carnival prize.

Unfortunately, the mixture has by then achieved the consistency of industrial adhesive, so Slick winds up stuck inside Francis until morning.

At sunrise, he finally works himself loose, crawls back into the mixer, and Francis starts the engine.

Another honest day’s work.
