Scepticism is called curiosity when the interviewee feels personally offended because he is not being treated like Jesus. His fragile ego must conquer you, whatever the cost!
By accepting the execution.
Because curiosity is an objective desire to know.
Sceptic is a derrogative term for curiosity,
The pursuit of truth!
It is precisely this truth that the one with the fragile ego cannot bear.
You are sceptical, you have no trust, you are not a philanthropist, you do not fit into this society. The term sceptical challenges you to defend yourself, speaks the preemptively guilty, to a confession, more precisely an admission, and otherwise you are threatened with the punishment of social contempt or even exclusion. This confession is obedience! Your own power of judgement is to be delegitimised - your independence!
You do not trust!
Then i cannot trust you either, for me that makes you dangerous therefore you are unfit for society.
But its the truth thats actually dangerous for society, precisely for the big small man.

May I sit with you?
That depends, do you want to hurt me?
No, don't you trust me?
Yes, that's why I ask and believe you.
But you're sceptical!
I'm not sceptical, I just want to be knowledgeable!

climate sceptic

A better sounding name for an air pollution advocate usually paid by, interested in, or manipulated by the pollution-heavy industries. They usually claim themselves (falsely) to be an expert in environmental sciences. Their main purpose is to propagate pro-pollution attitude.

Probably Bjørn Lomborg was the only respectable climate sceptic but for now he does not support his former opinions anymore either.

skeptical hippo 

A hippopotamus that sits in water while giving the observer a sideways, skeptical glance. Generally appears in motivational poster form whenever questionable facts are posted.

I'd try giving an example, but skeptical hippo would question the validity of it.
